This lithograph, “Parisian Landscapes - Paris Seen from Montmartre,” is signed Henri Rivière and bears a red stamp in the lower left corner. The work is authentic and antique. Regarding its condition, there are slight creases and small stains in the margin. There are also small stains in places on the lithograph itself. The lithograph is very fresh in color; once framed, most of the imperfections will be barely visible. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing, then moved on to intaglio engraving, specifically etching, in 1882. Simultaneously, in 1886, he embarked on a career as a director and set designer, creating shadow puppet theater at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing these shows with innovative, colorful sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted approximately a thousand watercolors).
