Samson, Paris Porcelain Leopard, After Kaendler, Mid-19th Century
A beautifully modelled Samson hard-paste porcelain leopard, Paris c.1850–1860, after the Meissen model by J. J. Kaendler. The recumbent cat is naturalistically enamelled with black rosettes on a white coat, soft brown shading to muzzle and paws, and alert yellow eyes. Underside with two firing vents; blue crossed-lines mark to the rump.
