Louis XIV period writing table. Oak. Poplar. Writing table composed of a table base opening with a drawer between front uprights whose turned baluster legs are connected by an H-shaped spacer of the same turning; its top, made of two boards, is molded with a beak in total frame (the desk can be seen from all sides). While the table is in solid oak, part of the drawer bottom is in poplar. The four balls of feet are formerly restored, as well as a drawer corner. North of France. Early eighteenth century.
