Kotsuka in shibuichi, chiselled with two herons in shakudo with gold eyes and legs, in a river with bamboo enhanced with gold and silver.
The reverse is signed ‘Chūzui’, chiselled with lines.
The heron evokes restraint before action in samurai culture.
