César-Pierre Richelet, grammarian, born in 1631 in Cheminon, died in 1698, was for some time regent at the college of Vitry-le-François, became a lawyer in Paris and left jurisprudence for literature. Well versed in the knowledge of ancient and modern languages, he published a French Dictionary.
