Very beautiful and solid Empire period teapot with "rooster" guarantee hallmarks, guarantee office number 27, Brussels. It is fitted with a very pretty fretel or lid handle in the shape of a sphinx. It dates from the period 1809-1814. The master goldsmith's hallmark is that of Augustin Dupret.
