"Neoclassical Cylinder Secretary, France, Late 18th Century"
Refined neoclassical rolling-leaf secretaire, raised on tapered fluted square legs with matching pilasters. The lower section features three drawers, surmounted by a two-door mirrored cabinet. The rolling-leaf opens with a sliding mechanism to reveal six small drawers and an open compartment. The writing surface slides out and blends discreetly into the design. Walnut veneer, the drawer fronts are accented with tripartite panels of finely figured burr walnut. The fluted elements are inlaid with brass bands, emphasizing the clean geometry and craftsmanship.
