"Tall Floral Vase Signed Cl. Massier Vallauris, Art Nouveau Style - 19th Century (1900)"
Tall vase signed Cl. Massier Fils Vallauris” — this is the signature used by Clément Massier (1844–1917), one of the most famous ceramists of Vallauris. It differs from those of his cousins Delphin Massier or Jérôme Massier, which helps to date and attribute the work to the correct branch of the family, the period estimated around 1895–1910. The technique used is fine iridescent glazed earthenware with hand-painted floral decoration combined with an iridescent glaze and a slender form. This vase fully corresponds to the Art Nouveau period, influenced by nature and plant forms.
