Jaeger-lecoultre “marina” Model Circa 1950–1960 Table Clock
Elegant table clock signed Jaeger-LeCoultre, model Marina, an iconic creation of the Swiss manufacture produced during the 1950s–1960s. This design is among the most refined decorative clocks by the brand, combining Swiss horological precision with artistic craftsmanship.
The rectangular case is composed of a black glass panel and a crystal front plate framed in gilt brass, resting on elliptical feet. The front is finely engraved and gilt, depicting a delicate naturalistic scene of birds in their nest among grasses and flowers — a motif inspired by mid-century Japanese decorative art.
The satin-gilt dial features raised triangular hour markers and dauphine hands. The mechanical hand-wound movement is signed Jaeger-LeCoultre and marked “Swiss Made.” The back shows the winding and time-setting controls typical of high-quality desk clocks of the period.
The Marina model is now highly sought after by collectors for its exquisite design, fine workmanship, and rarity. This black-background version with bird and floral motifs belongs to the most decorative and desirable variants.
