"Louis XV Period Queen's Armchair Stamped M.pollet"
Louis XV period armchair à la Reine stamped M.POLLET. Mid-18th century. It has a wide seat and a flat backrest called "à la Reine". It rests on four arched legs carved with volutes, topped with flowers, and finished with foliage. The crosspieces and the backrest are molded and carved with curved and counter-curved volutes, flowers and foliage. The armrest consoles are called "en coup de fouet". The upholstery has been redone, made using the traditional method with straps and horsehair. The whole is covered with a designer linen fabric. Stamped M. POLLET for Michel Pollet. A carpenter in the time of Louis XV, he is known only by his stamp.
