“dog” Collar, Coral, Silver And Crystal Diamonds, Belle époque
This rare model of jewelry is called a dog collar because it is worn mid-neck, snugly fitting close to the skin. Very fashionable at the beginning of the 20th century, Queen Mary of Great Britain was an icon.
It is composed of five rows of orange-red Mediterranean coral beads, perfectly matched in color, linked two by two by bars each set with a crystal brilliant. The vermeil clasp hallmarked with a boar's head is set with a line of the same brilliants.
It is long enough to be worn doubled as a bracelet if you have a thin wrist!
Impeccable threading and sliding clasp in good working order.
PERFECT CONDITION, France, early 20th century, circa 1910.
Dimensions 35cm x 2.5cm
Weight 55g
