Secretary opening on the front by 2 doors, a flap revealing an interior with compartments furnished with 6 small drawers including one in pediment. Paneled uprights. Console feet. Precious wood veneer: on the front rosewood panel in "butterfly wings", surrounded by fillets. Amaranth frame. On the sides, satin-finish panels with amaranth frames. Gilt bronze trim. Original Saint Anne gray marble top ( restoration ).

Jean-Baptiste Vassou (1739-1807) - Carpenter-cabinetmaker. Paris. Master on January 28, 1767. Vassou made a name for himself with a fairly abundant production of beautiful furniture, almost all from the Transition or Louis XVI period. Note: some minor defects, cracks in the veneer and invisible restoration in the marble.
