Writing Table, Louis XIII - Louis XIV Style Desk In Waxed Wood, Baluster Legs, 19th Century
Beautiful Louis XIII - Louis XIV style writing table in waxed wood. It rests on four baluster legs, connected together by a very beautiful crotch topped with two spinning tops, the whole resting on six slightly flattened balls. The belt is fitted on the front with a central drawer opening by means of an iron handle called "droplet". The top is decorated with a molding around its entire perimeter. This table is a beautiful manufacture from the second half of the 19th century, it has a very beautiful patina. We note traces of use including some stains on the top as well as fillings and a small lack on the crotch (see last photo) due to its age and use.
