Original gilt frame. A finely painted marine scene showing a young fisherman standing barefoot on a rock, absorbed in his fishing line, with a small boat and distant sails in the background. The luminous palette, serene atmosphere and meticulous brushwork are characteristic of the late-19th-century Neapolitan school and of Gaetano Capone’s poetic realism. Condition: excellent, original canvas, slight natural craquelure consistent with age.
Period: late 19th century.
