- Polychrome earthenware planter from the GIEN factory, rectangular, bulging shape with rounded corners resting on four lion paw feet, the two side handles are made up of lion muzzle masks with rare and rich TROFEI decoration and a two-part motto in Latin in two medallions with an angel (cupid) inside on a yellow background. - We can read a motto split into two parts inscribed in Latin on one side of Sincerita Spendor and on the other side Impavidus Amor Omnia Vincit which can be translated as follows: - By the unalterable purity of its resplendence love triumphs over all. - Decorated with friezes, lion mask, warrior attributes, music of olive leaves on a blue background. - Signed with the stamp of the GIEN earthenware factory, mark with the castle on the ribbon in brown and number 56 in ochre color. - Referenced in the GIEN book: Faïence de GIEN Michéle-Cécile Gillard in the Massin edition page 26.- Period 3rd quarter of the 19th century around 1866-1870.
