Oak Church Stalls, 17th Century Elements
Superb and elegant pair of oak stalls, some of them from the 17th century. They rest on 3 molded crosspieces, and the sides are composed of thick molded and finely carved panels decorated with scrolls and acanthus leaves and foliage in relief. The central upright is simpler with a daisy decoration. The seats rise and are decorated with scallop shells. The whole was reassembled in the 19th century from 17th century elements which are the carved parts. Quality work in very good condition and very decorative.
