Oil on canvas, 61 cm x 50 cm sold with its gilded frame bearing a cartouche with the artist's name 74 cm x 64 cm signed lower left, located and dated on the back of the canvas 1986 Sainte Geneviève Church. Probably representing a view of Paris. Sold with invoice-certificate. Very good condition. In this composition of sensitive geometry, Nubar Bedrossian captures the soul of an old Parisian neighborhood. The facades lean, the roofs brush against each other, the street fades into an almost musical silence. A soft light slides along the walls, revealing the patina of time, the trace of the passage of men. In Bedrossian, space becomes emotion: the lines unfold like a memory, the volumes breathe a quiet life. The slightly distorted perspective gives the scene an almost cubist poetry, where balance is born from the tension between rigor and sensitivity. Through his muted tones—ochre, green, blue, off-white—the artist evokes a dream city, between reality and memory. Nothing is anecdotal, everything is suggestion: the solitude of a street, the promise of a presence. Born from a culture at the crossroads of the Orient and Europe, Nubar Bedrossian has created a personal visual language, recognizable among all. His views of Paris, Lyon, and Avignon, imbued with a discreet modernity, combine the structure of drawing with the tenderness of color. A work that is both architectural and intimate, where the city becomes confiding.
