Acrylic On Abstract Canvas (dated 1998) Signed Thibaut De Reimpré (1949-2023)
Artist: Thibaut De Reimpré (1949-2023)
Acrylic on canvas signed lower left Thibaut de Reimpré (1949-2023). Dated lower left 1998. Dimensions: 81 x 101 cm. Thibaut de Reimpré trained at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, particularly in the Yankel studio from 1968 to 1971. He worked mainly in acrylic paint (although he also used Indian ink), in an abstract style. He belongs to the second generation of the French school of abstract painting after the Second World War. His work is more specifically part of the lyrical abstraction movement, which includes artists such as Michelle Desterac, François-Charles Bazelaire and Pierre Célice. His work is exhibited regularly, both in public places and in galleries, in three or four solo exhibitions per year, both in France and abroad, in group exhibitions as well as at international fairs (more than 165 since 1970). Thibaut de Reimpré has a unique place in the Abstract Expressionist movement. His painting is both elegant and strong, it encourages us to abandon ourselves to the simple pleasure of painting, to follow its meanders, materials and colors in a complete commitment of the body and imagination. It encourages active reverie, gives energy and enthusiasm, it makes us passionate about life.
