Mercury-gilt bronze clock known as "the laboring soldier" displaying the Legion of Honor, taking an oath on a stele engraved with "Honor and Fatherland" Honor and Fatherland is the motto of the Legion of Honor, a decoration created in 1802 by First Consul Bonaparte to reward military and civil exploits. Flag and weapons support the whole. Magnificent frieze with a chariot pulled by warrior loves. Monograms of the bronzier PH on the back of the harrow and the saber. Wire movement revised by a watchmaker with pendulum and key. Annular dial, enamel and gilt bronze signed by the watchmaker Renault in Nantes.
