Square Adjustable-height Table, Charlotte Perriand, Les Arcs Circa 1973
Artist: Charlotte Perriand
Adjustable-height table designed by Charlotte Perriand for the Nova and Lauzières residences at Les Arcs 1800, French Alps, circa 1973.
The square top is made of laminated solid pine and rests on a cruciform black lacquered metal base. Thanks to a hydraulic system, the height can be adjusted from 53 cm (20.8 in) to 67 cm (26.4 in), allowing the piece to function either as a coffee table or a dining table. This design reflects Charlotte Perriand's vision at Les Arcs: functional, durable furniture adapted to mountain living.
