Landscape depicting a view of a village by the river in Charente. Oil on canvas signed lower right "de Retz" for Eudes Alfred François de RETZ (1856-1930). Work circa 1915, this work was present in a regional collection and was accompanied by a second painting by the artist depicting the Charente at Cognac (visible in the gallery). Eude de Retz is a painter of the Arras School, a school born from the meeting between Corot and Dutilleux in the mid-19th century. Period frame in wood and gilded stucco.
