Art Deco sterling silver compact, circa 1930.Black enamel and malachite.
With a sleek and refined design, it bears the french "sanglier" title hallmark (sterling silver) and illegible maker's marks. Although these marks cannot be identified, the distinctive design, choice of materials, and craftsmanship closely resemble the work of Jean Fouquet, This would make this compact a significant piece of the Art Deco period.
