Elegant pair of small roll-top secretaries in cherrywood, of Venetian manufacture, probably from Vicenza, dating from the early 19th century.The two pieces feature sober lines and harmonious proportions, with tall square-section legs that give the structure an elegant balance between solidity and lightness — a characteristic of Vicenza furniture from the transitional period between the Neoclassical and Empire styles.
The roll-top, with smooth sliding movement, conceals an interior compartment with drawer and writing surface, while the lower section provides additional storage space. The construction is precise and entirely in solid cherrywood, with warm natural grain and a shellac finish enhancing the surface sheen.
Both pieces are in excellent condition, showing only light wear consistent with age. Solid and functional, they are ready for display and use.
