Luigini, Watercolor: The Mills On The Canal
The mills along the canals in Holland are a majestic spectacle, which have fascinated artists in all eras. Ferdinand Jean Luigini (1870-1943) is one of them, accustomed to the landscapes of northern France and Europe. He produced watercolors and etchings which were a certain success in the first half of the 20th century, he even exhibited at the Georges Petit gallery in 1907. It has been elegantly framed since the 1930s in a silk-rendered passe-partout. It is in very good condition, the colors perfectly preserved.
