Large flat desk in the Return from Egypt style in mahogany and gilt bronze. Top with molded rim, wine-colored leather top with gilt iron border. Double-sided decoration, seven drawers, palmette lock entries, four keys. Uprights with cut sides: crowns of flowers and ribbons, busts of Athenians. Sheathed feet with clawed sabots. Sides and back with diamonds of hearts, palmettes and foliage. Beautiful quality of manufacture, french polish. Circa 1950. Height under central drawer 61 cm, top height 75.5 cm, width 150 cm, depth 80 cm. A glass top with beveled rim is included (small scratches from use).
