Superb drawing of a leopard by Jane Le Soudier (1885-1973). She was a French sculptor, draftsman and pastellist, specializing mainly in the animal genre. Jane Le Soudier won the drawing prize of the city of Paris at the age of fourteen, the silver medal of the city of Le Tréport in 1908, the gold medal of the city of Dinan in 1909. She was a student of the landscape painter Henri Harpignies and took sculpture lessons from the animal sculptor Georges Gardet. She was named an officer of the Academy in 1925 and received a bronze medal for sculpture at the 1925 International Arts Exhibition and an honorable mention at the Salon des Artistes Français the following year. She was awarded the Montyon Prize and the Gold Medal of the French Federation of Devotion in 1935. As for this drawing, it represents a lying leopard, the line is precise and of quality. Presented in a wooden frame and gilded stuck with Marie-Louise. Quality work in good condition, timeless decorative.
