Louis XV style desk – Napoleon III period
Superb Louis XV style desk, Napoleon III period, in ebonized wood and finely engraved brass marquetry. Its double gilt fillet top is decorated with an elegant central rocaille-style motif. The curved uprights end with finely chiseled gilt bronze sabots and appliques, representing female masks and floral ornaments. Two drawers on the front, mahogany interiors, with original lock and key. French work, circa 1880. Very good general condition.
