A RARE polychrome decoration of a Chinese concert scene in a garden, under a large straw parasol supported by bamboo poles, a seated lady, richly dressed, holds a stringed instrument, she is surrounded by three figures: one playing a flute, another holding a book/score, the third with a long instrument (lute/pipa type). Around, terrace bordered by a low wall, pavilions in the distance, water with rocks and aquatic plants in the foreground, on the right, a flowered vase placed on a pedestal table with geometric interlacing. The wing has a black background animated by a gold decoration (volutes, clouds, stylized flowers, small “Chinese style” subjects), framed by a red listel and a wide gold band.Dimension(s): Diam. 23.5 cm,Condition(s): PERFECT CONDITION,Period: EARLY 19TH CENTURY.VERY RARE AND CURIOUS DECORATION.This decoration is more elaborate than the usual small “Chinese” subjects.
