Rare bronze by Félix Desruelles in sketch from 1907, cast with richly nuanced patina bearing the foundry stamp in hollow and the sculptor's signature in cursive. Félix-Alexandre Desruelles is one of the most important French sculptors. A pupil of Alexandre Falguière, François Rude, JB Carpeaux and Houdon, he exhibited at the Society of French Artists from 1885, and won a gold medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition.
