Elegant pair of chased and gilded bronze andirons, known as "Marmousets", made in the 19th century in the Grand Siècle style. Each andiron is adorned with a sphere decorated with fleurs-de-lis topped with a finely worked grip, resting on an architectural base. The lower parts feature powerful mascarons with radiating faces, surrounded by volutes and stylized ornaments, typical of the Louis XIV decorative vocabulary. The wrought iron rear supports allow their functional use in a fireplace, while their imposing presence and rich ornamentation also make them true decorative elements.
