An important covered earthenware pot from Malicorne, decorated in white and blue, signed under the base Émile TESSIER. The body is adorned with medallions depicting a lively landscape with an oriental influence, alternating with large, stylized floral motifs in a deep blue characteristic of the Malicorne workshops. The very elegant lid is surmounted by a handle in the form of a bird, delicately modeled and highlighted with matching floral decorations. The whole piece displays a high quality of execution, both in the finesse of the design and in the intensity of the blue glaze, typical of Émile Tessier's production in the second half of the 20th century.
