Tilt-top Marquetry Table, Rolo Workshop (emilia), Second Half Of The 19th Century

Elegant tilt-top table with a marquetry top in various woods (walnut, cherry, maple), most likely made in the town of Rolo, Emilia, renowned in the 19th century for its refined intarsia furniture.
The rectangular top (80 x 54 cm; overall height 74 cm) is decorated with a finely engraved marquetry scene depicting an ancient chariot drawn by two horses with a charioteer. The intarsia is enhanced with incised details that give depth and dynamism (manes, drapery, wheels). A geometric border frames the central composition, in line with the decorative taste of the second half of the 19th century.
The structure is that of a tilt-top table: the top can be lifted vertically and displayed like a framed panel, or locked in horizontal position as a functional salon table. The turned and shaped base combines ebonised elements with natural woods, reflecting the Emilian style of the second half of the 19th century.
Condition: solid and stable; the top shows minor lifting and rippling of the veneer, along with light scratches and wear consistent with age. Attractive patina, no significant restorations visible.
