"Large Aubusson Rug In Empire Restoration Style - 368cm X 270cm"
Large Aubusson rug from the early 20th century. Light in color, in shades of beige, our rug has a beautiful Empire Restoration style decoration - cornucopias, passing lions, bouquets and crowns of natural flowers. The Aubusson Factory has been recognized for the excellence of its productions since the 17th century, for French rugs and tapestries. First Royal, Imperial then National, it was supplier to official palaces and great aristocratic families. Elegant object, an essential for a great French decoration. The effect produced by 18th century seats and furniture on a French rug has nothing to do with an Oriental rug. Good overall condition. The light colors (shades of beige) allow to give a lot of brightness to the room for which this rug will be intended; the rug is originally light in color: it makes a room brighter and lighter when large formats in red can be heavier. It has no tears, some light stains. Rare in this fresh condition. Length: 368cm Width: 270cm
