A Fine 18th Century George II Period Mahogany Drop Leaf Table

This is a superb Georgian mahogany drop-leaf oval dining table, dating to around 1760, and crafted from beautifully figured Cuban mahogany. The solid, elegant top displays a wonderful aged patina and grain, which catches the eye, especially when the table is fully opened. The table features twin shaped leaves that lift and rest securely on classic “gate” swing legs, allowing you to expand it from a compact occasional table for two to a comfortable four-seater dining table. Turned legs that gently tap down to a quartet of elegant pad feet, a hallmark of mid-Georgian design. Solid joints and sturdy construction, ensuring the table is ready for immediate use in your home. Its versatile proportions and the quality of the timber make it suitable as a dining table or an occasional supper table. The solid mahogany and finished back means it can stand freely in a room or be placed against a wall, making it a highly adaptable piece for any interior.
