Bronze bust representing Sully, Superintendent of Finances for King Henry IV. He was responsible for the recovery of the finances of France, ruined by the Wars of Religion. The bust is of a beautiful quality of sculpture as evidenced by the execution of the beard and the muzzle of the lion. The smile is laughing and the gaze lively. Wear of the gilding on the pedestal.
