Polychrome wood statuette, the children saved by Saint Nicholas, 19th century
This statuette represents the three children who, according to legend, were killed and placed in a salting tub by a butcher, before being miraculously resurrected by Saint Nicholas. It was probably an accessory to a statue of the saint.
