Pair of Art Nouveau Silver-Mounted Glass Carafes – Eachcarafe is finely crafted with a tapering, faceted glass body, decorated withdelicate wheel-cut drapery and starburst motifs to the lower panels. Themounts, executed in silver, feature flowing Art Nouveau ornament with stylizedshell and leaf designs, extending seamlessly into sinuous handles and hingeddomed lids topped by bud finials. The elegant balance between the cleargeometric glass and the organic silver mounts exemplifies the refined artistryof early 20th-century Art Nouveau design.Circa 1900s.  
Silver marks: Russian assay mark (1899-1908): Kokoshnikhead facing left, 84 (84 zolotnik = 875/1000) and 3 for Kiev.
