Marius Mangier was born in Lyon in 1867. He died in 1952 in Nantua. A student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, he exhibited from 1888 at the Salon de la Société Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts where he won several medals. Marius Mangier is featured in the "Bénézit" as well as in the book "La peinture lyonnaise au 19ème" by Elisabeth Hardouin-Fugier and Etienne Grafe.
