An accomplished scholar’s seal in fine milky-white Shoushan stone. The crest shows two dragons in high relief chasing a flaming pearl; note the alert modeling of the heads, neatly pierced whiskers, and confident undercutting around limbs and tails. The seal face is particularly rare, combining Chinese characters with Latin letters “FF”, indicative of a special commission for a Western client during the early Republican era. The stone presents a soft inner glow and remains distinctly cool in hand.
Dimensions/weight: approx. 8.5 × 7.6 × 3.2 cm; 329 g.
Condition: minor nicks to extreme high points of the openwork; seal face undamaged and clear.
Investment note: quality of carving (clean undercutting and definition), unusual hybrid inscription, and refined milky-white Shoushan support long-term value.
