"Alpine Region Butter Brand"
Butter brand or butter plate, folk art of the 19th century. It is a fairly thick wooden plate made of Swiss pine, also called Alpine pine. Rich engraved decoration representing a coat of arms centered on a rooster surmounted by a crown. Dated 1870 with the initials: H KDwo hearts in the lower part. Old customary restoration with the handle slightly discolored at its end. Old patina and reddish-brown color. Note: these household objects were often offered as gifts of love or wedding gifts.
