Patinated bronze, lost-wax casting, edition of 7 (this one is no. 4), signature, monogram and justification on the capote, signature and justification on the left zapatilla, handwritten label in blue ink under the base indicating title, edition, dimensions, technique (partly illegible), height: 41 cm (including the black marble base), weight: 6.8 kg.
Silvino Poza was born in Valladolid in 1926. In 1953, he entered the National School of Applied Arts and the School of Fine Arts. He began as an engraver in 1959. In 1970, he received first prize at the Palma de Mallorca Autumn Exhibition. He turned to sculpture in 1987. In 1992, he participated in the Universal Exposition of Seville, exhibiting at the Caja de Ahorros in Pamplona. He exhibited in Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, the United States, Tahiti, Korea, and Japan. He died in Madrid in 2010.
