Grand Tour: Pair Of 19th Century Silver-plated Cathars
Pairs of silver-plated Cathars on an alabaster base, imitating the silver tableware found in the excavations of Pompeii. These are souvenirs that in the 19th century could be brought back by wealthy tourists visiting the Gulf of Naples. Each decoration is different, certainly taken from existing pieces. One of these cups must have fallen, so it is slightly tilted (foot to be straightened). The silver-plated metal is a little worn, but the whole thing retains a beautiful decorative effect.
