Fragment of a lozenge-shaped glazed earthenware tile, bearing the arms of Marie de La Tour d’Auvergne (azure, a silver tower masoned sable, surrounded by four golden fleurs-de-lis), Duchess of La Trémoille.
This tile comes from the Château of the Dukes of La Trémoille in Thouars (Deux-Sèvres).
The pavement was executed in 1636 at the workshop of Antoine Conrade (1604–1648) in Nevers.

Numerous similar tiles are today preserved in the collections of the Louvre Museum, as well as in Thouars, Bressuire, and La Roche-sur-Yon.
