This Berlin Iron Cameo, profile turned to the right, probably represents the Emperor Julius Caesar.

It is part of a series sold individually (see last image). It bears the number 16 on the back.

It dates from the beginning of casting in Berlin around 1804/1810, Royal Foundry of Berlin. Early 19th century, Georgian period, cast from an 18th century intaglio engraving.
Material: iron with black phosphorus patina. Condition: exceptional quality, rare representation.
