Adolphe Léon Willette (1857–1926) Adolphe Willette was a French painter, illustrator, poster artist, and caricaturist. A student of Cabanel at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he became a prominent figure in Montmartre artistic life at the end of the 19th century. He contributed to numerous satirical newspapers such as Le Chat Noir, Le Rire, and L'Assiette au Beurre, and was distinguished by his lively and expressive style, often tinged with humor and irony. Willette is also known for his large decorative compositions and posters, combining graphic elegance and a rebellious spirit.
