Guillermo Spinosa (1939-2010) is a Colombian painter and sculptor from Bucaramanga, considered one of the major figures of Santander art. Trained at a very young age at the Beaux-Arts, he developed a style marked by abstract expressionism and abstraction, where he mixes symbolism, regional customs and themes linked to traditional trades. From the 1960s, he exhibited in Colombia and abroad (Amsterdam, Chicago, Caracas, Buenos Aires) and received several awards, including First Prize at the II National Salon of Plastic Arts. In addition to his paintings, he left important sculptures and public works, such as "El Clavijero" and "Las Ruedas" in Bucaramanga. His work, both rooted in his territory and open to a universal modernity, makes him a reference artist in the history of 20th-century Colombian art.
