"Orientalist Bronze “the Falconer” By Marcel Debut, 84 Centimeters."
Bronze with a golden patina, on a circular red marble base. Total height: 84 cm. Superb orientalist sculpture representing a young falconer, standing, holding a falcon on his gloved left arm and brandishing a thin sword in his right hand. The figure, in an oriental tunic and barefoot, rests on a rocky terrace decorated with flowers. Characteristic work of Marcel Début, a French sculptor from the end of the 19th century, student of Chapu and regular exhibitor at the Salon des Artistes Français. High-quality piece, rare in bronze (often produced in spelter), with very beautiful casting details and a uniform golden patina.
