Malachite And Silver Egg With Napoleonic Seal

This refined piece consists of a malachite egg mounted on a repoussé and chased silver base. The surface of the malachite, a highly prized hardstone admired in the imperial era for its deep green veining, is enriched with silver applications of floral garlands and festoons, crowned by a finely worked finial.
The structure rests on a square base with small feet, decorated with vegetal and foliate motifs in relief.
