Jacques I Laudun (1627-1695) Email From Limoges Portraits Of The Nobility 17th Louis XIV
Magnificent pair of portraits depicting two young members of the nobility, in Limoges enamel by Jacques I LAUDUN (1627–1695) or Jacques II LAUDUN (1665–1729).
The male portrait bears a monogram beneath the face: J. L. for Jacques LAUDUN.
Both enamelers produced similar works and signed with the same monogram.
The young woman displays the fashionable hairstyle under Louis XIV known as the “Fontange,” introduced by Mademoiselle de Fontange.
They are presented in blackened lightweight metal oval frames.
The enamels are slightly convex by origin and in very good condition.
They are in their original, untouched state, just as I discovered them
