PAIR OF OFFICER'S PISTOLS OF THE BODYGUARDS OF THE KING'S MILITARY HOUSEHOLD, Former Monarchy, Reign of Louis XVI. 30081 Octagonal barrels with a thunderbolt then round, length 21.7 cm, with the breech tang 26.8 cm, caliber 15 mm, engraved and gilded on the three upper sides with foliage and flowers on a blued background. Flat-bodied lock plates decorated with cherubs and corollas of foliage. Flat-bodied hammers with swan necks engraved with scrolls. Walnut mounts with a long barrel carved in relief behind the ramrod and the breech tang with scrolls and flowers. All hallmarked silver fittings. Underguards decorated in relief with corollas of foliage and flowers. Counter-lock plates with a smooth medallion surrounded by openwork corollas of foliage. Thumb pieces in the shape of a coat of arms remained smooth surrounded by foliage. Pommels with long ears decorated with cornucopias, flowers and foliage. Oval caps decorated in relief with the face of the sun on a radiant background. Whalebone ramrods with steel heads. Total length of the pistols 36.5 cm. France. Former Monarchy, Reign of Louis XVI. Good condition, barrel colors refreshed, attachment of one of the trigger guards drifted but without accident.
